Our Services We Offer
Training and Extension for Conversation Agriculture in the Savannahs (TECAS) is a social enterprise with the mission to promote the adoption of conservation agriculture (CA) in North-West Ghana, as a strategy to reverse the trend of declining soil fertility and to build resilience against climate change.
We provide consultancy services to organizations who want to carry out CA promotional activities, individuals who want to venture into commercial farming and researchers who want to conduct CA trials. Additionally, all scale farmers or groups who are zest to improve their productivity
A major constraint of large scale adoption is lack of CA tractor services. To address this and propel this, we put together a CA Mechanization Center to provide direct planting, ripping, leveling and spraying. This we believe will incite competition from other tractor service providers to enhance CA equipment accessibility and adoption rate.
Cover crops contribute to the key principles of CA by serving as permanent soil cover – conserve moisture in the soil while inhibiting growth of weeds. Cover crops contribute immensely to improving the soil ecosystem and thus are very integral to CA.
